This project was inspired by the ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers) I created a 32-page publication with a focus on both well structured, gridded type and experimental decorative type to reinforce the theme throughout the publication. My theme was online data, specifically the amount of time we spend on our mobile phones, this included a large number of different percentages and statistics that I was able to experiment with showing visually. The publication itself was 24 inches in width to represent the 24 hours in a day. Each page would be dedicated to one of the 6 people I interviewed and would have a theme inspired by their most used app. I would also demonstrate the number of hours spent online by filling in that area on the 24-inch page, for example if someone spent 10 hours online then 10 inches of the double spread would have a filled block of colour to demonstrate the time visually. The type design would follow using the online data as inspiration in how I displayed the type in a way that referenced the statics mentioned.
